The Story Behind The Label

BRAND PROFILE
As the name suggests, IN GOOD COMPANY is about people; about surrounding ourselves in the good company of people we love and about the love for things that will never be outdated. Co-founded by four friends, sparked by the common vision to create a label that will encapsulate the essence of what we will all love for ourselves, In Good Company is committed to make real clothes...

IN GOOD COMPANY is a Singapore-based label that aspires to be the go-to label for modern everyday style...And quite possibly the simple ultimate solution to a full functioning wardrobe... kids not excluded. Each capsule will feature definitive wardrobe classics that are crafted into indispensable modern staples with a new twist - urban chic aesthetics + masterful tailoring at sharp price points. IGC's sense of modernity and cool colour palettes extends to cool kids too. The Mini Me capsule features style-appropriate, sized-down replicas designed for really cool girls from ages three to eight.
OUR LOVE FOR COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS
In the spirit of collective-ness, we at IN GOOD COMPANY are also on a mission to celebrate beauty from the unexpected places and with individuals who have unique signature quirks and uncommon visions of the world we live in. With collaborative initiatives, we hope to bring fresh designs and develop ideas to a world perhaps over-populated by unattainable luxury at the high end, or an uncomfortable sameness at mass prices. There are limitless possibilities to what we can create together....

FOUNDERS' BACKGROUND
Co-founded by four friends in Aug'12, each individual partner has had years of experience in the fashion retail industry. Collectively, we form a well-rounded management team, complementing each other's expertise and core responsibilities.
Sven Tan / Design & Creative Director
Sven became Singapore fashion's superstar of 2005 when he snagged the prestigious Mercedes Benz Fashion Award. He was immediately snapped up by a major homegrown luxury trader to create its first house label after that. In the seven years  that he's led its design team, the label's become one of Asia's first labels to successfully break out in Europe and being stocked at Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue in the US to Lane Crawford in Hong Kong. Arguably one of Asia's most original yet commercial designer today, Sven has set new sights on re-inventing a modern woman's wardrobe staples.

Kane Tan / Design & Artisanal Director
Kane is the rare Malaysian to hold the title of Singapore's Young Designer of 2004. It took the younger Kane longer to graduate from Sven Tan's very alma mater, the Raffles Design Institute and follow in the latter's footsteps right into the core Alldressedup design team in 2007. Since then, the duo's worked side-by-side, with Sven as the tailoring whiz, and Kane as the master draper. Now behind every lovingly hand-crafted detail fashion-lovers can always expect from IGC is Kane's signature touch.

Julene Aw / Managing Director (Retail Operations & Merchandising)
Julene brings a wealth of hands-on merchandising experience, from her 5 years with the Wing Tai Group, Miss Sixty and Alldressedup altogether, to bear on the IGC label - and it shows in its tightly curated off-season offerings. Details on IGC's every style may be restrained but are nonetheless luxuriantly executed at her behest, to up their cachet. Every piece is also styled to be a must-have to a plethora of woman from the fashion fiend to the yummy mummy, and her kids.

Jaclyn Teo / Managing Director (Sales & Marketing)
Jaclyn is the IGC group's all-rounder who's broken her teeth on every aspect of the fashion business in the last decade as she's worked her way up from visual merchandising to merchandising, marketing and finally brand managing and creation. She did this with two of the strongest fashion and retail groups in town, namely The Link and Burberry. This thorough fashion immersion has led her to start IGC -  for a new generation of style leaders who no longer want  to follow or even set trends, but simply want to enjoy fashion on their own terms.
